The Operational Improvement Plan was launched in February 2006. It is the culmination of a thorough review of the Child Support Agency’s (CSA) operations.

Purpose

It will drive the much needed improvement to services that clients deserve:

  • more responsibility from non-resident parents
  • more money for more children
  • less child poverty
  • delivery that is more efficient and effective

The plan, which will last for three years, is designed to help fundamentally change the way the CSA works, placing focus on the things that matter most to the clients.

The initial phase of the Operational Improvement Plan focused on the organisational and operational restructuring of the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Division and the training of staff to increase capacity and capability.

In 2007/08 (the second year of the plan) they continue to embed the changes to the way the organisation is structured.

The project will be fully implemented by April 2009.
