Northrop Grumman is a global defence and technology company and provides innovative products, services and solutions in systems integration, defence electronics, information technology, advanced aircraft, shipbuilding, and space technology.

Their primary UK locations are London, Chester, Coventry, Fareham, New Malden, Peterborough, RAF Waddington and Solihull.

History

In January 2006, Northrop Grumman consolidated its UK business development and customer interface activities establishing a new corporate office in London to serve its UK customer base and to grow its international business.

Northrop Grumman has been active in the UK IT market for more than a decade, applying its considerable advanced technology and systems integration expertise particularly in supporting the implementation of advanced biometrics identification technology.

In the area of security and public safety systems, Northrop Grumman has a proven track record of integrating and providing high value-added engineering for complex systems for the public sector.

Projects

Northrop Grumman is contracted by the National Policing Improvement Agency as the systems integrator for the design, development, installation, testing, operation and maintenance of IDENT1 under a managed service contract that runs to 2013. The IDENT1 biometric identification service gives UK police forces the capability to search for identifying marks against a database of 7.5 million records.

Northrop Grumman is also developing New York City’s public safety wireless broadband network. This new system will enhance the city’s existing network with high-speed data and video and enable first responders to access and download information quickly.
