The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal's Volunteer Corps) (FANY (PRVC)) was formed in 1907 with the purpose of assisting the Military and Civil authorities in times of Emergency. Society, and the place of women within it, has changed phenomenally in one hundred years but the Corps' mission and purpose remain substantially unchanged.

Roles

FANYs train as members of the City of London Casualty Bureau Documentation Team. There are opportunities to train additionally as Incident Support Officers. FANYs provide assistance for Business Continuity in the City, working at the Guildhall for the Corporation of London after a Major Incident or attack.

The FANY is still a voluntary organisation, based on principles of duty and integrity, self discipline and collaboration; always on call, FANYs are resourceful and unique women, who come from all walks of life, and are united in their aim to be of service in whatever capacity is asked of them.
