Annual Health Check
From SR
Purpose
The annual health check is the most important of the Healthcare Commission’s activities to drive improvements in healthcare for patients. It involves assessing and rating the performance of each NHS trust in England during the financial year from 1 April to 31 March. When doing so, a wide range of areas are looked at, from the overall quality of care – including safety of patients, cleanliness and waiting times – to how well trusts manage their finances.
Documents
The results of the 2007/08 annual health check will be published on 16 October 2008.
Information about the 2008/09 annual health check, which includes a number of changes from previous years, is available on the Healthcare Commission website.
