Agile Campaign Planner (aCP)

What does it do? aCP is a consultancy and software solution that supports complex, multi-actor, strategy planning and decision making. It enables organisations to manage uncertainty in planning - vital in today's uncertain world where planning is more complex than ever before. No amount of research, modelling or analysis can remove this uncertainty. What technology can do is help to capture, describe, communicate and make traceable an understanding of this uncertainty. aCP provides decision makers with the ability to interrogate the most up-to-date information. It enables strategy planning practitioners to focus on understanding and analysing the problem, providing support through conceptualisation of issues, plan design and visualisation, and management of execution. It allows them to visualise analysis of rapidly changing environments and communicate it. But technology is not the only answer. Sophisticated methods and tools will only work if they support people based processes and are highly adaptive. It is this combination of technology, people and process that constitutes the aCP solution (as opposed to the aCP tool).

How is it used and by who?

aCP Planner (the planning tool element of aCP solution) is used collaboratively by planners of various levels to create, analyse and query planning data.

The tool is exploited and developed iteratively by a Planning Support Consultant (PSC) who enables the agility required from a tool deployed in a constantly changing environment. The challenge of uncertainty requires tools and technologies that support agility and assist in indentifying the decisions that matter. Therefore a PSC will work closely with the planners to provide advice on optimising use of the tool, to implement rapid configuration, and to provide input based on experience and research into the various planning activities. The level of planning support provided will vary according to each set of circumstances, and will be determined through consultation key planning staff. The nature and scale of the problem will determine the balance between full aCP deployment (with associated consultant and technical support) through to consultant-led output delivery is struck in order that work can begin and early benefits be realised. Training and skills transfer can be delivered, if required, as the engagement matures.

aCP Web is the component of the aCP solution that enables maximum situational awareness to be achieved by as wide an audience as possible. It allows non-core planning staff (those who have been issued a login) to query any data that the planners have chosen to publish to a web environment, hosted on an accessible via the target infrastructure.
