The Parliamentary Intelligence & Security Committee produced a report examining intelligence and security matters relevant to the July terrorist attacks, focusing in particular on: whether any intelligence which may have helped prevent the attacks was missed or overlooked; why the threat level to the UK was lowered prior to the attacks and what impact this had; and what lessons were learned from these attacks, and how these lessons are being applied.

London Assembly

The London Assembly set up the 7 July Review Committee to examine the lessons to be learned from the response to the London bombings on 7 July, and in particular the communications issues. Its report contains a detailed analysis of the response to the bombings and concludes that while the people involved performed outstandingly, the systems and equipment that were in place to support them did not. The report makes 54 recommendations designed to improve the way such major incidents, and the people caught up in them, are managed.
